Azan (AJ) Jessani

Physiotherapist

  • Master's of Physiotherapy (MPT)
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology (BSc)

Born and raised in Calgary, Azan (AJ) Jessani has always been drawn to movement, adventure, and the science behind human performance. His passion for physical activity spans from the soccer pitch to the mountains, whether he’s hiking with his dog, skiing the slopes, or competing in sports like pickleball, spikeball, or volleyball. AJ’s curiosity about how the body moves led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, followed by a Master of Physical Therapy from Western University.

AJ brings valuable clinical experience across orthopaedics, sports rehabilitation, and paediatric care, with a particular interest in helping young athletes and active individuals recover, move better, and perform at their best. He uses an evidence-based, collaborative approach and draws on his creativity to design treatment plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each client. His time working in diverse clinical and cultural settings strengthened his adaptability, empathy, and holistic approach to care—qualities that were further shaped by an unforgettable three-month experience doing clinical work abroad in Tanzania during which he summited Mount Kilimanjaro.

During his free time, AJ enjoys Calgary’s active lifestyle, spending his weekends hiking and skiing in the Rockies or playing soccer, pickleball, and spikeball with friends. When he’s taking it easy, AJ loves watching live sports and cheering on his favourite teams or rewatching his go-to sci-fi classics like Star Wars and Star Trek.
