Whether you’re struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction, persistent pain, a new injury or looking for preventative care, Clarissa looks forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals and get back to what you love doing! Clarissa is a physiotherapist who achieved her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Before this, Clarissa obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (with Honors and Great Distinction) from the University of Lethbridge, during which she completed multiple research projects in the Brain in Action Lab. After graduation, Clarissa went on an adventure with her partner and worked at the Kelowna General Hospital. During this time in Kelowna, she had exposure to various inpatient acute care units. She spent most of her time working with patients who were living with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and others recovering from COVID, cardiac surgeries, strokes, and heart attacks. Clarissa returned to Alberta to pursue a new exciting journey with her partner and is eager to join the Peak Health and Performance team.
Clarissa is a lifelong learner and is especially keen to continue learning about pelvic health, the respiratory system, and persistent pain. Since graduation, she has enthusiastically focused her attention on Pelvic Health, having completed levels 1, 2, and 3 of Pelvic Health, a men’s health course, and a course about pregnancy and pelvic girdle pain. In addition, she has completed courses in long COVID, posture, and breath control.
