What Is TCM Acupuncture?
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic system of health care that originated in China over 3000 years ago. The main focus of TCM is to ensure the free-flowing movement of Qi (pronounced “chee”) in the body, to maintain health and promote healing from illness or pain. This type of medicine incorporates acupuncture, tui na massage, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, herbal medicine, nutrition and other tools in a TCM appointment.
TCM Acupuncture involves the insertion of ultra-fine needles into the skin at specific acupuncture points along meridians or channels to help rebalance the body. TCM Acupuncture can be used to treat a broad spectrum of conditions beyond pain, to include the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
