Dr. Emily Woods began her education journey at St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) in Nova Scotia, where she graduated with honours with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, with a minor in Psychology. Her passion for human movement, sports, and helping others led her to pursue her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Emily’s approach to care is centred around helping each patient feel confident in their body and reach their individual goals. She enjoys working with a diverse range of patients, from those managing everyday aches and pains to active individuals and “weekday warriors” looking to stay active and continue doing the activities they love. She believes that staying healthy and active looks different for everyone and enjoys helping patients work toward their individual goals. During her time at CMCC, Emily gained valuable clinical experience working with a diverse range of conditions and patient populations. Her clinical education allowed her to work with individuals of varying ages, activity levels, and health goals, helping her develop a well-rounded and individualized approach to care.
She also had the opportunity to work with a hockey team, further developing her interest in sports and active populations while gaining experience supporting athletes through injury prevention, recovery, and performance. Emily takes a patient-centred approach to care, focusing on understanding each person’s goals and creating an individualized treatment plan. She is passionate about helping patients move better, feel their best, and stay active, whether that means returning to competitive sport, getting back to their favourite activities, or simply keeping up with the demands of everyday life.
