Kalaina Kozak
Physiotherapist Intern
- Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT)
- Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Bsc)
Kalaina received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta, after completing a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. Throughout her training, she explored a variety of volunteer and academic experiences that shaped her passion for physical therapy. These opportunities included coaching adapted cycling, strength training with youth with cerebral palsy, contributing to research on concussion and injury risk in youth, and completing clinical placements in pediatrics, sports, and neurological rehabilitation.
Kalaina is passionate about bringing fun into movement at every age. She has a genuine interest in discovering each client’s strengths and using them to help clients achieve their goals. Her treatment approach is rooted in client-centred care as she loves being creative in tailoring each rehab plan to every individual. She combines this with a strong evidence-informed lens to ensure every treatment plan is both engaging and effective.
Outside the clinic, Kalaina loves staying active and spending time outdoors. You can usually find her in the gym, at the hockey rink, on a lake skiing and swimming, or in the mountains hiking, skiing, or laughing with friends. True to her quest to be a “jack of all trades and master of none,” she’s always trying something new—most recently trail running, river surfing, mountain biking, and backcountry skiing. Her curiosity about all the activities her clients enjoy keeps her excited to learn from them as well. If you’ve got a challenge for Kalaina, she’d love to meet you!
